Managed to get to MPH at Mid Valley today ..

Last nite unable to make it as stuck somewhere near KLCC at 9.35p.m .. haha
(check at http://mb.namran.net for last nite photos..)
And one book made me standing still for about one hour and half.. ahahhahaa..

“Peaks and Valleys” from Spencer Johnson..

as per his previous book “Who Moved My Cheese”.. this one also being as story telling type..

this it talk about the Peaks and Valleys of a young man.. who manage to become a manager at his young age..

and to make it interesting.. he live in a valley.. something like “Klang Valley” I suppose..

then everyday he is somehow seeing a place to be called as Peaks.. like what “Genting Highland” .. can be seen from “Klang valley” from a far..

..and he think .. thing at “Peaks” must be better that what he has in the “Valley” .. hmm..

he keep postponing and dragged himself not to climb to the peak .. and reason of bla..bla.bla..
“so difficult to get to peak.” and such thing..

until that one day .. he escaped from the valley managed to get himself up to the peak.. but not fast enough.. and missed the sunset view from the peak..

“I missed it..” he said.. and suddenly an old man replied.. “Missed what?”.. and he end up explaining the reason why he is coming to the peak .. and all..

the old man asked “How is the view NOW?”.. and look up upon the sky then .. the young man realized “how beautiful is sky with Star shining all over place…” .. the old man said.. depend “According to scientist the star that we see today might be the light from a planet that was dying million years ago..and possibly not there anymore but we are still seeing it as much we can see today..”

discussion somehow conclude to : It is hard to differentiate between “Reality & something else that is not real”.. (hahaha..)

and the advice began.. on “Peaks and Valleys” as personal experience..

While we are at the valleys .. the thing that we do correct could made us to peak the next time..

but .. while we are at peaks.. the thing that we do ‘incorrectly’ would lead us to another valley..

.. and this one I agree.. we actually asked for what to happen next.. it is the matter we realized or not..

sometime later we might be laughing at our own action at the “bad time” ~ “valleys”.. when we reached the “peaks”

we are the one .. who make the bad thing looking so “bad” become worst.. or the good thing look too “good ” until unable to see the real situation and making mistake that could lead to another ‘valley’..

Whether you are temporarily up on a Peak or down in a Valley, ask yourself:

What is the truth in the situation?

and.. the second round. the author talk about the ability to use the “sensible vision” to get to next peak.. knowing that you have to go to another valley..

.. also the matter of having eyes wide open of the reality rather than being arrogant at peak.. and being fear to leave the ‘comfort’ zone during valleys.

and most importantly ..

“Peaks” and “Valleys” doesn’t have a clear cut or boundary..

it could be both.. depend on how you see it..

p/s :

I found out one way to cool down the girl after having a ‘BIG’ fight..is by bringing her to bookstore (MPH) and spend some time there together ,
she will ended up going around the bookstore looking for ‘her’ book and all.. leaving you at some corner..and thing went back as normal as the time goes by.. hahahahahaha.. (not buying any book though).. but it could be better if could avoid the ‘fight’ at the first place..

During a long holiday break a week ago ..
I managed to read a book with the title as “Who Moved My Cheese?” by Spencer Johnson, MD, . I have to admit , it was kinda eye-opening for realizing the desire to pursue for better and tendencies of enjoying current comfort zone ~ ( standing still ) ~
are completely about the balance.. a.k.a ‘zen’ .. a.k.a ‘ying & yang ‘.. a.k.a ‘wasatiah‘ or in malays — ‘kesederhanaan’

.. one proverb..

“Bekerjalah kamu seolah-olah untuk hidup selama-lamanya..
dan beribadatlah kamu seolah-olah.. esok tiada lagi..”

i would like to excerpt the point that was pointed out in the book with just a simple analogy..

here we go.. (pardon me if the writing is not that good .. .
I would say it could be not that bad at all to write one in a Malay version..)

Pasukan tikus(satu mempunyai ketajaman deria bau.. satu mempunyai kelebihan kelajuan..)

In that book.. the Author put some real-life interpretation by a discussing being held during a re-union of the classmate after many year heading to their own ways..
some got success.. some got failure.. and sharing their experience with each other and relate back to the above story..

p/s : it is short.. and yet.. powerful enough.. to wake up ..

and .. “You can lead a horse to water.. but you can’t make him/her drink..”
very true after all..
